Is This Program Right for You?
GA Endurance created this 20-week 30K / 20 Mile Cycling & Gran Fondo Beginner structured plan for cyclists preparing to complete the distance with steady pacing, safe progression and confidence. It begins with aerobic and pedaling foundations, then develops controlled tempo, short race-power efforts and a measured taper.
This plan suits riders who can already complete easy cycling sessions and want a clear route toward a 30K event. Most weeks use four training days and three rest days. Bike and strength sessions may share a day so recovery remains protected.
What to Expect
- Structured power-based cycling for road or indoor trainer
- Easy aerobic rides, cadence work and progressive long-ride comfort
- FTP checks and controlled tempo, VO₂max and 30K race-power sessions
- Strength work focused on movement quality, stability and durability
- Planned lighter blocks, race-specific fueling practice and a calm taper
- Clear guidance for intensity, technique and recovery in every workout
Coaching and Support
Each session explains its purpose and how to execute the prescribed work. The Monday note explains the week’s focus, key rides and recovery priorities. For setup or training-zone support, contact GA Endurance at account@gaendurance.com.
Starting Requirements
- Comfortable completing regular easy aerobic rides
- Able to train on four days per week while protecting rest days
- Access to a safe bike route or indoor trainer
- Power meter or smart trainer recommended; heart rate and perceived effort remain useful checks
- Willing to practise basic strength movements with safe technique
Final Note
Keep easy rides easy, progress at the prescribed dose and practise fueling before the event. Use the final taper to arrive rested rather than adding last-minute work. The goal is a controlled, enjoyable 30K / 20 mile ride.
