Is This Program Right for You?
GA Endurance created this 10-week 60K / 35 Mile Cycling & Gran Fondo Intermediate plan for regular cyclists who want to turn an existing aerobic base into structured endurance, controlled climbing strength, pacing discipline and confident 60K event execution.
The plan is suitable for athletes who can ride continuously for 90–120 minutes, train 4–5 days per week, and follow Easy endurance rides, structured quality sessions and strength work with consistency. Before starting, you should have a basic aerobic cycling routine and be comfortable using heart rate, power or perceived effort to control intensity.
What to Expect
• Easy aerobic riding, cadence control, pedal economy and position stability
• A 3-weeks-build / 1-week-recovery structure adapted to the selected duration
• Progressive tempo, threshold, low-cadence strength and race-specific endurance work
• Longer weekend rides that prepare you for the 60K / 35 mile distance
• Road and trainer execution options with clear intensity and recovery guidance
• FTP recalibration points to keep training zones current
• Structured strength training that supports cycling posture, torque production and durability
• A controlled peak and taper phase leading into the target event

Starting Requirements
Before starting this plan, we recommend that you can:
• Ride continuously for 90–120 minutes at an Easy aerobic effort
• Train consistently 4–5 days per week
• Complete basic endurance rides and controlled intensity sessions
• Use a bike computer, indoor trainer, heart rate monitor or power meter to follow workout targets
• Perform basic squat, lunge, hinge and core movements with safe technique
A power meter or smart trainer is recommended for the best experience, although heart rate and perceived effort can also be used when applied consistently.
Final Note
This 10-week plan develops the endurance, pacing control, strength support and recovery discipline needed for a successful 60K / 35 mile cycling or Gran Fondo goal. Keep Easy days truly easy, respect recovery weeks, practise fueling on longer rides and avoid adding unnecessary extra intensity during the taper.
