Is This Program Right for You?
GA Endurance created this 6-week 30K / 20 Mile Cycling & Gran Fondo Intermediate plan for cyclists who want a structured, interval-friendly path toward short Gran Fondo performance, sustainable tempo control and confident race execution.
The plan is suitable for athletes who can ride continuously for 60–90 minutes, train 4–5 days per week, and follow Easy endurance rides, controlled quality sessions and strength work with consistency.
What to Expect
• Early base work focused on Easy riding, cadence control, pedal economy and position stability
• A 3-weeks-build / 1-week-recovery structure adapted to the selected duration
• More frequent controlled intervals than the longer-distance families, while preserving the first 8 weeks as base work where applicable
• Tempo, threshold, VO₂max and short race-specific power sessions for the 30K / 20 mile demand
• Road and trainer options with clear execution and recovery instructions
• FTP recalibration points to keep training zones current
• Structured strength training that supports durability and power production
• A controlled peak and taper phase leading into the target event

Starting Requirements
Before starting this plan, we recommend that you can ride continuously for 60–90 minutes at an Easy aerobic effort, train consistently 4–5 days per week, complete basic endurance rides and controlled intensity sessions, and perform basic strength movements with safe technique.
A power meter or smart trainer is recommended for the best experience, although heart rate and perceived effort can also be used when applied consistently.
Final Note
This 6-week plan develops the aerobic control, interval tolerance, pacing awareness and recovery discipline needed for a successful 30K / 20 mile cycling or Gran Fondo goal. Keep Easy days truly easy, respect recovery weeks and avoid adding unnecessary extra intensity during the taper.
