Is This Program Right for You?
This 12-week Advanced 100K / 60 Mile Cycling & Gran Fondo plan by GA Endurance is designed for experienced cyclists who want to develop the aerobic durability, sustainable power, technical efficiency, and race-specific endurance required for a strong 100 km performance.
The plan is best suited to athletes who already train consistently, can complete a long aerobic ride comfortably, and are prepared to train with power-based structured sessions and complementary strength work.
What to Expect
• Progressive aerobic endurance and long-ride development
• Cadence, pedal-stroke, position, and technical-efficiency sessions
• Controlled tempo, threshold, VO2, and race-specific work after the base phase
• A 3:1 loading and recovery rhythm with planned FTP recalibration
• Structured strength training with phase-appropriate exercise progression
• 100K-specific long rides, race rhythm, fueling practice, taper, and race-week preparation
• Power-based structured workouts compatible with TrainingPeaks
Coaching and Support
Every workout includes its purpose, intensity guidance, and detailed execution instructions for road or trainer use where appropriate. For help with plan setup, training zones, or TrainingPeaks, contact the GA Endurance team at coachsupport@gaendurance.com.
Starting Requirements
Before starting this plan, you should:
• Be able to train consistently across the week
• Be comfortable completing a long aerobic ride of approximately 90 minutes or more
• Be familiar with Easy riding, Zone 2 endurance, cadence drills, and controlled quality work
• Have access to a road bike or indoor trainer; a power meter or smart trainer is strongly recommended
Final Note
This plan combines progressive overload, recovery, strength development, and race specificity. Keep Easy days truly easy, execute quality sessions with control, practise fueling during long rides, and avoid adding unnecessary load during recovery and taper weeks.
