About 5–7¾ hours in each non-race week against a 132-kilometre Belgian qualifier.
Leuven's main qualifying course is 132 kilometres with approximately 880 metres of climbing through rolling Brabantse Wouden terrain. That profile rewards focused work: sustained speed for the fast gravel, repeatable efforts for the punchy climbs, and one purposeful weekend ride carrying the endurance load. This twelve-week Time-Crunched plan aims the available time at those demands while staying honest about the trade: that training time can prepare you to race well, but cannot replace high-volume preparation for a Worlds ticket.

Hey, I'm Matti. I spent 11 years at TrainingPeaks, where they trusted me to teach coaches how to coach at TrainingPeaks University. I raced Amateur Elite with Rio Grande Cycling Team and podiumed my age group at Unbound 200 in 2026. I have a degree in biology and exercise physiology from St. Olaf. I'm also a middle-aged dad of three, so I know training doesn't happen in a vacuum. I help gravel riders get stupidly fast without becoming the person who brings a food scale to a party
