The UCI Gravel World Championships race in Nannup, Western Australia on Sunday, October 11, 2026 for elite men and men 19–49. Their 143-kilometre course climbs 3,713 metres and is at least 80 percent gravel.
This eight-week Finisher plan assumes an existing riding base and concentrates the runway on 88.9 miles and 12,182 feet of climbing. Purposeful long rides develop restraint on repeated steep climbs, control on varied gravel, and a fueling and equipment system that can survive a remote championship course.
88.9 MI · 12,182 FT CLIMBING · AT LEAST 80% GRAVEL ACROSS VARIED UNPAVED SURFACES · 8 WEEKS · 7–11 HR/WK · FINISHER

Hey, I'm Matti. I spent 11 years at TrainingPeaks, where they trusted me to teach coaches how to coach at TrainingPeaks University. I raced Amateur Elite with Rio Grande Cycling Team and podiumed my age group at Unbound 200 in 2026. I have a degree in biology and exercise physiology from St. Olaf. I'm also a middle-aged dad of three, so I know training doesn't happen in a vacuum. I help gravel riders get stupidly fast without becoming the person who brings a food scale to a party
