The Traka is 126 miles around Girona on rocky Mediterranean gravel, forest trails, and technical descents — 84% of it unpaved, and little of it smooth. With about 8,700 feet of climbing spread across the day, it asks for endurance and bike handling in roughly equal measure rather than one big climb.
This is a twelve-week plan for the Traka’s distance and rough surfaces, built around the higher volume a result takes. The work is long endurance and repeated efforts on technical ground, because a result on a day this long and rough is decided late, after the descents have worn the field down.

Hey! I'm Matti - also known as the Gravel God himself!
If you're into gravel racing and want to be as fast as possible, you had better choose me!
Why?
Because I'm the fastest, least talented person to ever ride a bike. I've made every mistake in the book so you don't have to and I'm here to save you years of failure and struggle.
When I'm not helping my athletes get faster on a bike I write obvious, overlooked training content that makes cycling training easy to understand.
