Alentejo Gravel is 74 miles with about 5,700 feet of climbing on gravel roads through cork-oak montado and golden plains, where the climbing arrives in hundreds of small rolling grades rather than sustained climbs. Late October here brings cool mornings and warm, dry days.
This is an eight-week plan for riders who want to finish, built around the seven to eleven hours a week you can give it. Most of the work goes toward riding the distance on tired legs and getting used to the constant small rolling grades, because that repeated up-and-down is what fills the day here more than any single climb.

Hey! I'm Matti - also known as the Gravel God himself!
If you're into gravel racing and want to be as fast as possible, you had better choose me!
Why?
Because I'm the fastest, least talented person to ever ride a bike. I've made every mistake in the book so you don't have to and I'm here to save you years of failure and struggle.
When I'm not helping my athletes get faster on a bike I write obvious, overlooked training content that makes cycling training easy to understand.
