66° South Pyrénées is 62 miles with about 7,500 feet of climbing, run as loops entirely above 5,774 feet on the Font-Romeu plateau, with named climbs at miles 22, 34, and 55 and a high point near 6,600 feet in the final miles. It falls on the last Saturday of September at altitude, where cold starts, strong sun, and fast afternoon changes are all possible.
This is an eight-week plan for finishing the distance on the hours you have, with most of the work aimed at climbing repeatedly on tired legs, the demand the back half of the course makes. The thin air of the plateau is the race’s demand, not something a plan can hand you, so the plan builds the durability to keep riding well through repeated climbing.

Hey! I'm Matti - also known as the Gravel God himself!
If you're into gravel racing and want to be as fast as possible, you had better choose me!
Why?
Because I'm the fastest, least talented person to ever ride a bike. I've made every mistake in the book so you don't have to and I'm here to save you years of failure and struggle.
When I'm not helping my athletes get faster on a bike I write obvious, overlooked training content that makes cycling training easy to understand.
