The Filthy 50 is 50 miles with about 2,000 feet of climbing on rolling roads that are mostly gravel with some dirt, through northern Minnesota’s lakes country in early October. Expect fall conditions in the 40s to 60s with a chance of rain.
This is an eight-week plan for riders working with four to six hours a week against a job and everything else. Most of that limited time goes toward steady riding on rolling terrain and getting used to a full day on gravel, so the hours you do spend match the distance and the surface the race asks for.
50 MI · 2,000 FT CLIMBING · 80% GRAVEL, 20% DIRT ROADS · 8 WEEKS · 4–6 HR/WK · TIME-CRUNCHED

Hey! I'm Matti - also known as the Gravel God himself!
If you're into gravel racing and want to be as fast as possible, you had better choose me!
Why?
Because I'm the fastest, least talented person to ever ride a bike. I've made every mistake in the book so you don't have to and I'm here to save you years of failure and struggle.
When I'm not helping my athletes get faster on a bike I write obvious, overlooked training content that makes cycling training easy to understand.
