Finnish Gravel is 110 miles with about 2,100 feet of climbing near Lahti, on a mix of gravel roads, tarmac, and Nordic ski paths, with some loose stony gravel on the hills. It runs in August, when highs sit around 70F, rain showers are possible, and the near-24-hour daylight means sunset comes after 11 PM.
This is a twelve-week plan for masters riders over fifty, running 7–11 hours a week with more recovery built in than a younger rider would need, because the body recovers slower after fifty. Most of the work builds the endurance a 110-mile day asks for, with steady time on gravel to get used to the loose stony sections, because arriving fit and uninjured is the harder half after fifty.

Hey! I'm Matti - also known as the Gravel God himself!
If you're into gravel racing and want to be as fast as possible, you had better choose me!
Why?
Because I'm the fastest, least talented person to ever ride a bike. I've made every mistake in the book so you don't have to and I'm here to save you years of failure and struggle.
When I'm not helping my athletes get faster on a bike I write obvious, overlooked training content that makes cycling training easy to understand.
