Vermont Overland is 54 miles with about 7,000 feet of climbing, run mostly on gravel and dirt roads that include seven sectors of rough, unmaintained “Vermont pavĂ©.” The climbing is near-constant over that distance, and the surface earns a technical rating of four out of five.
This is a twelve-week plan for riders fitting training around a full life, at roughly seven to eleven hours a week. Most of the work builds toward riding rough surfaces on tired legs while the climbing keeps coming, because a course this steep over this distance asks for endurance and repeated climbing together, not either one alone.

Hey! I'm Matti - also known as the Gravel God himself!
If you're into gravel racing and want to be as fast as possible, you had better choose me!
Why?
Because I'm the fastest, least talented person to ever ride a bike. I've made every mistake in the book so you don't have to and I'm here to save you years of failure and struggle.
When I'm not helping my athletes get faster on a bike I write obvious, overlooked training content that makes cycling training easy to understand.
