Grinduro Germany is 62 miles with about 6,500 feet of climbing on a mix of gravel forest roads, technical singletrack, and paved connectors, run in an enduro format where the climbs are untimed and only the descents are timed. Temperatures stay cool, and with a chance of rain the Eifel forest can turn muddy.
This is a twelve-week plan for riders fitting training around work and family, with weekly hours in the seven-to-eleven range. Most of the work builds steady endurance for a long day on mixed surfaces, with time spent on the kind of technical descending the timed stages ask for, because the format rewards handling on gravel and singletrack, not just fitness on the climbs.

Hey, I'm Matti. I spent 11 years at TrainingPeaks, where they trusted me to teach coaches how to coach at TrainingPeaks University. I raced Amateur Elite with Rio Grande Cycling Team and podiumed my age group at Unbound 200 in 2026. I have a degree in biology and exercise physiology from St. Olaf. I'm also a middle-aged dad of three, so I know training doesn't happen in a vacuum. I help gravel riders get stupidly fast without becoming the person who brings a food scale to a party
