Grinduro France is 62 miles with about 6,500 feet of climbing in the Vosges mountains, run in an enduro format where the climbs are untimed and four descents are timed on steep, technical, forested terrain — half gravel, roughly a third singletrack. The weather is generally warm, but mountain conditions can change.
This is a six-week plan for when the entry is paid and the weeks are short. Six weeks won’t build technical descending or repeated climbing from nothing, but the limited hours can focus on repeated climbing and time on gravel and singletrack, because the descents are timed and that terrain is the format’s demand.

Hey, I'm Matti. I spent 11 years at TrainingPeaks, where they trusted me to teach coaches how to coach at TrainingPeaks University. I raced Amateur Elite with Rio Grande Cycling Team and podiumed my age group at Unbound 200 in 2026. I have a degree in biology and exercise physiology from St. Olaf. I'm also a middle-aged dad of three, so I know training doesn't happen in a vacuum. I help gravel riders get stupidly fast without becoming the person who brings a food scale to a party
