Monaco Gravel Race is 72 miles with about 8,202 feet of climbing on rocky mountain tracks and secondary roads above Monaco. The first and last six kilometres use a very rocky track, with Col de Braus, Col du Castillon, and Col des Banquettes between them.
This is a twelve-week plan for that climbing and technical surface, built around the hours you have to train. Most of the work is repeated climbing and riding well when you are already tired.
72 MI · ~8,202 FT CLIMBING · VERY ROCKY MOUNTAIN TRACKS AT THE START AND FINISH, WITH TRAILS · 12 WEEKS · 7–11 HR/WK · FINISHER

Hey, I'm Matti. I spent 11 years at TrainingPeaks, where they trusted me to teach coaches how to coach at TrainingPeaks University. I raced Amateur Elite with Rio Grande Cycling Team and podiumed my age group at Unbound 200 in 2026. I have a degree in biology and exercise physiology from St. Olaf. I'm also a middle-aged dad of three, so I know training doesn't happen in a vacuum. I help gravel riders get stupidly fast without becoming the person who brings a food scale to a party
