SBT GRVL is 108 miles with about 8,000 feet of climbing on fast gravel, starting near 6,700 feet and averaging around 7,200 feet, with timed cutoffs at miles 20 and 37 that can redirect you to a shorter course. The altitude is the race’s demand, not something a plan can hand you.
This is a twelve-week plan for riders over fifty, built with more recovery between the hard days because you recover slower than you used to. Most of the work goes toward the sustained hours and repeated climbing that 108 miles at this elevation asks for, because arriving fit and uninjured is the harder half after fifty.

Hey! I'm Matti - also known as the Gravel God himself!
If you're into gravel racing and want to be as fast as possible, you had better choose me!
Why?
Because I'm the fastest, least talented person to ever ride a bike. I've made every mistake in the book so you don't have to and I'm here to save you years of failure and struggle.
When I'm not helping my athletes get faster on a bike I write obvious, overlooked training content that makes cycling training easy to understand.
