Unbound 100 is 103 miles on the flint gravel of the Kansas Flint Hills in late May or early June — chunky, sharp rock that slices sidewalls, and clay that turns to tire-clogging mud when it rains. The climbing is modest, but the heat is real and the surface is relentless: it’s a day decided by durability, tire choices, and staying fueled in the sun far more than by raw fitness.
This is a twelve-week plan for Unbound’s distance and heat, built around four to six hours a week. Most rides build endurance or get you used to riding steady in heat — the two things the day asks for on limited hours.
103 MI · 4,373 FT CLIMBING · ~90% FLINT GRAVEL, ~10% PAVED · 12 WEEKS · 4–6 HR/WK · TIME-CRUNCHED

Hey! I'm Matti - also known as the Gravel God himself!
If you're into gravel racing and want to be as fast as possible, you had better choose me!
Why?
Because I'm the fastest, least talented person to ever ride a bike. I've made every mistake in the book so you don't have to and I'm here to save you years of failure and struggle.
When I'm not helping my athletes get faster on a bike I write obvious, overlooked training content that makes cycling training easy to understand.
