Belgian Waffle Ride Cedar City is 117 miles at around 6,000 feet of elevation, with about 5,940 feet of climbing and 60 percent of the route off pavement — gravel, sand, ranch roads, and packed-dirt rollers. It’s high desert in mid-June, where good years run warm and dry but the weather can turn fast.
This is a six-week plan for when the entry is paid and the weeks are short. Six weeks can’t build the endurance for 117 miles from scratch, but the limited hours go toward the long off-pavement riding and the repeated climbing that define the day, so you get to the start with a plan built around what this race actually asks.

Hey! I'm Matti - also known as the Gravel God himself!
If you're into gravel racing and want to be as fast as possible, you had better choose me!
Why?
Because I'm the fastest, least talented person to ever ride a bike. I've made every mistake in the book so you don't have to and I'm here to save you years of failure and struggle.
When I'm not helping my athletes get faster on a bike I write obvious, overlooked training content that makes cycling training easy to understand.
