Belgian Waffle Ride Cedar City is 117 miles at around 6,000 feet of elevation, with about 5,940 feet of climbing and 60 percent of the route off pavement — gravel, sand, ranch roads, and packed-dirt rollers. It’s high desert in mid-June, where good years run warm and dry but the weather can turn fast.
This is an eight-week plan for riders working with four to six hours a week against a long day at altitude. Most of the limited hours go toward riding the distance in fewer, longer sessions and holding a steady effort on mixed surfaces, because the thin air is the race’s demand, not something a plan can hand you.

Hey! I'm Matti - also known as the Gravel God himself!
If you're into gravel racing and want to be as fast as possible, you had better choose me!
Why?
Because I'm the fastest, least talented person to ever ride a bike. I've made every mistake in the book so you don't have to and I'm here to save you years of failure and struggle.
When I'm not helping my athletes get faster on a bike I write obvious, overlooked training content that makes cycling training easy to understand.
