Attack the crests, survive the moves, and be there at the finish. This 8 week Rolling Road Race plan builds the punchy over threshold attacks, sustained threshold selections, VO2 power over rollers, and finishing sprint off fatigue that win an undulating road race, on 7 to 8 hours a week on Zwift or any indoor trainer.
WHO IT IS FOR: Riders targeting a rolling, undulating road race won by repeated attacks and a hard finish, who can train 7 to 8 hours a week and want a structured, science backed build to a specific event. Compatible with Zwift and any smart trainer. Set your FTP on day one and race on the final day.
HOW IT PROGRESSES: Eight weeks move from foundations to attack repeatability to sustained selections, through a recovery week, into an attack power peak, a key full race simulation week, a sharpening week, and a race week taper. FTP test on day one calibrates every target. The final day is your event.
WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT: Every session is distinct and purpose built around the real demands of a rolling road race, the attack and settle move, over under counters, VO2 punches over crests, finishing sprints off fatigue, and progressively longer rolling race simulations. Every ride carries a six section briefing, a pre ride cue, and one verified peer reviewed reference.
WHAT TO EXPECT EACH WEEK: Around 7 to 8 hours across five or six rides, two or three quality sessions, an undulating endurance ride, a long rolling race simulation on the weekend, and honest recovery. Weekly notes set the theme, hours and rest days so you always know the plan.
