Train for your track endurance meet with a structured 8 week plan built for riders with 7 to 8 hours a week, and open a whole new discipline in your riding. This is the complete preparation for the individual pursuit, the points race, the scratch race and the madison, building the VO2max ceiling of a pursuit, the sustainable threshold to hold a fast bunch, and the repeated-jump punch that wins bunch races on the boards.
WHO IT IS FOR: Pursuiters, points and scratch racers, madison and omnium endurance riders, and roadies who want a sharper top end and bunch-race repeatability. It suits anyone who wants pursuit-pace power, threshold strength and the ability to jump again and again off a fast pack. Every session works indoors on a smart trainer or on rollers, so you can build track endurance all year.
HOW IT PROGRESSES: Day one is an FTP test to calibrate every target. From there each week blends pursuit-pace VO2max intervals, threshold and over-under work, points-race jumps off a fast bunch and an aerobic base ride, escalating through a build, a recovery week, an extend block and a peak that culminates in a full track-endurance meet simulation. A sharpening week and a taper carry you to your event on the final day.
WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT: Every ride carries a six part description, a pre-activity fuelling and pacing note, and one verified sports-science link, drawn from pursuit and track-endurance research on power requirements, pacing and training. Pursuit pacing, a fast start, held middle and negative-split finish, is drilled throughout, and sessions are genuinely distinct, no two the same, and separate from the road VO2 and criterium plans.
WHAT TO EXPECT EACH WEEK: Five to six focused sessions, precise interval pacing, an aerobic ride to build the engine that recovers you between efforts, and a weekly guide note. Expect pursuit VO2 intervals, long threshold blocks, relentless points-race jumps, a full meet rehearsal with pursuit and bunch rounds, and a taper that leaves you ready to pace a pursuit and win a sprint.
