Train for your gran fondo or long sportive with a complete 12 week plan built for riders with 6 to 8 hours a week. This is full preparation for a big day in the saddle, developing the aerobic endurance, sustained tempo and threshold power for the climbs, long ride durability and race day fuelling that carry you strongly to the finish. Every ride is Zwift and indoor trainer compatible, with power targets in percent of FTP so it scales precisely to you.
WHO IT IS FOR. Amateur and enthusiast cyclists preparing for a gran fondo, cyclosportive, century or any long, hilly ride. If you can train six to eight hours a week and want to arrive at the start line fit, fuelled and confident rather than hoping to survive, this plan is built for you. It suits indoor and outdoor riders and gives more runway than a shorter block for those wanting a deeper build.
HOW IT PROGRESSES. Week one opens at 5:30 with your FTP test, then volume climbs through 6:00, 6:30 and a 4:30 recovery week to absorb the work. The second block extends to 7:00, 7:30 and 8:00 hours before a 5:00 recovery week. Two peak weeks at 8:00 and 8:30 hours carry a four hour dress rehearsal, then a 7:00 sharpen week and a 4:30 race week taper you into the event. The signature Saturday long ride grows from 1:15 toward four hours across the plan.
WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT. Every ride carries a six section description, a pre ride plan, and a verified sports science reference, so you always know what you are doing and why. The quality sessions are all distinct, from tempo pyramids and over unders to climb reps, race pace blocks and torque climbs. Fuelling is trained deliberately on every long ride.
WHAT TO EXPECT EACH WEEK. Monday rest, Tuesday and Thursday quality tempo and climbing work, Wednesday and Sunday endurance, Friday easy recovery, and the signature long ride Saturday. Two recovery weeks keep you fresh, and race week delivers you sharp and confident to the start line.
