Plan Description
16-Week Ultra Gravel Plan: Maximum Volume and Sustained Aerobic Capacity for 200+ Mile Events
For advanced riders targeting ultra gravel events — 200 miles and beyond. Four training blocks of three weeks build followed by one recovery week each. Saturday long rides progress from 2.5 hours in week 1 to 6 hours at the peak in week 14. Monday long rides also build, reaching 4 hours during the final blocks. Threshold work dominates the first two blocks to build the sustained power floor. VO2 work replaces threshold in blocks 3 and 4 to sharpen the top end before the long weeks. Peak weekly training load reaches 15+ hours in week 14. A power meter is required. Do not start this plan unless you are already training 9+ hours per week consistently.
