Plan Description

8-Week Gravel Race Prep Block: Convert Base Fitness Into Gravel Race Readiness

Eight weeks of race-specific preparation for intermediate to advanced gravel riders with a base already built. Four sessions per week: one Zone 2 midweek ride, one recovery session, one quality session, and a Saturday bookend that mirrors the structure of a gravel race start. Quality sessions progress through threshold, VO2, and anaerobic work before shifting to race simulation in the final weeks. Assumes you are coming in with at least 8-10 hours of consistent weekly training. Do not start this block cold — a base phase or full-season training block should precede it.
