Before you buy another sportive or Gran Fondo plan, it is worth understanding what your recent training actually shows.
This product is not a standard training plan.
It is a structured review of your recent TrainingPeaks data, goals, target event demands, and training history, followed by practical next-step guidance from Robert Ferguson at Watts Ahead...
The aim is simple: to help you understand what has been working, what may be limiting progress, and what the most sensible next step should be.
This review is best suited to riders preparing for sportives, Gran Fondos, charity rides, cycling holidays, endurance challenges, or long club events who already have training history in TrainingPeaks and want a clear, honest coaching view before committing to another plan, a custom training block, or full coaching.
It may suit riders who need better endurance, climbing confidence, pacing discipline, fuelling strategy, fatigue resistance, or simply a more realistic structure before a long event.
It is especially useful if recent rides have raised questions. If you fade late, struggle on climbs, finish long rides completely empty, miss fuelling, ride too hard too early, or are unsure whether your training actually matches the demands of your target event, this review can help identify what needs to change before event day.
The review includes:
Review of recent TrainingPeaks data
Review of your stated goals, target event, distance, climbing demands, and training history
Identification of broad strengths, limiters, and patterns against your goals

This product works best when there is enough data to review. A minimum of 12 weeks of recent TrainingPeaks data is recommended. A fuller review is strongest when 6–12 months of training history is available.
TrainingPeaks data access is required. The quality of the review depends on the quality and quantity of information available. If there is limited training history, missing data, no power or heart rate data, no long-ride history, or very little athlete feedback, the review will necessarily be more general.
This is a review and guidance product. It does not include ongoing coaching, custom weekly programming, unlimited messaging, workout adjustments, race-week support, nutrition planning, strength programming, detailed route analysis, or rewriting another coach’s training plan.
After purchase, please email robert@wattsahead.co.uk within 72 hours with your completed questionnaire and arrange TrainingPeaks access. Turnaround begins once I have received your questionnaire and access to the required data.
If further support is appropriate, I will direct you to the most suitable Watts Ahead option after the review.
