Plan Description

This is an 8-week training plan designed specifically for the L'Étape by Tour de France Medium Course Race for Beginner Riders.

The plan utilizes a combination of Aerobic Riding, Tempo and Sweet Spot training to enhance an athlete's base
of fitness, thereby improving their endurance, strength, and aerobic capacity. So you will be ready to tackle race day fit and strong to go faster or further than you have before.

The program is periodized, with workouts incorporating over-under intervals and ramps to keep you engaged and make the most of the time you have available to train. Each workout describes the Training Zone targeted and how it will help you have your best result race day.

The workouts are based on intensity, as measured by the Training Stress Score (TSS), which tracks the overall training load and physiological stress.

The plan has structure workouts within TrainingPeaks so you can connect it to your smart trainer as well as various Training Platforms like Zwift. There are descriptions of the workouts and zones so you can use Perceived exertion, Heart Rate or Power.
