My name is Zach Nehr and I am a USA Cycling-certified Coach at ZNehr Coaching. I am also an elite cyclist, freelance writer with publications in CyclingTips, Amp HP, and Final Surge, and graduate of Marian University–Indianapolis, where I studied Exercise Science and Psychology. I am incredibly passionate about the sport of cycling, and I love coaching riders of all abilities in road racing, endurance riding, cyclocross, and track.
Every day I spend my free time learning about training, nutrition, coaching, psychology, and everything else about elite endurance sport. My coaching philosophies include: structure, numbers, flexibility, psychology, and most importantly: fun.
Structure: Keeping a training plan, log, journal, or diary allows you track your progress and aim for both short-term and long-term goals. Food logs, interval workouts, and TrainingPeaks stress scores keep you accountable and motivated for your next training block. One of my biggest global philosophies: Be a better person than yesterday. This applies to life in general, but also to cycling specifically. It doesn’t necessarily mean that you were a bad person yesterday; it’s about always trying to be better. Structured training diaries allow you to keep track of your training, lifestyle, nutrition, and recovery. Using these tools, you can look back, take notes, and learn from your mistakes. Soon you will be smarter, stronger, and faster than ever before. (...you can find the rest of the breakdown on my website: zachnehr.com)
