I think the efficiency and safety for training are the most important for triathletes. because we don’t have time to be wasted, and we have a lot of things to balance. We should train smart; we should use our brain to think how to improve our performance step by step. Even when we made mistakes, we should be graceful for identifying them because they could help us learn and improve. More importantly, we should not sacrifice our health to get the record.
Over the past several years, I helped hundreds of athletes achieve their goals in endurance sports. Lots of them finished their first triathlon race, and most of them keep moving forward, perform successfully in their sports and achieve PB every year. Some of my athletes could finished Olympic Distance within 2 hours 03 minutes, and finished IM70.3 within 4 hours 40 minutes, 10KM running within 35 minutes, marathon within 2 hours 50 minutes. But the most important thing is we could get better through every training. Training is not a simple workout for athletes, even when we feel tough sometimes. It is a gift, always help us move forward.
