My training programs are designed to be personally tailored to my client's specific needs and abilities. No two programs are alike. I am a physical therapist, so my programs include specific strength-training and cross-training work to help prevent injuries from poor form, muscle imbalances, and over-training. I'll also have my clients submit a video of them running where I will analyze form and provide constructive feedback.
I have over 15+ years of running experience After moving to Charleston for college, I continued to explore the Holy City with my feet. I have completed every distance up to a marathon, and I am completing my first Ultra Marathon in February, 2017.
My education background includes a B.S. in Exercise Science and DPT in Physical Therapy. I also am an ACSM Certified Exercise Physiologist and RRCA Certified Running Coach. My special interests are in exercise physiology and lower extremity biomechanics, specifically how they relate to running and training. I have extensive knowledge in hip, knee, and foot and ankle mechanics. I understand how the body works as a whole and that you can’t focus on just one area at a time. Therefore my programs will include a mix of cross training styles and strength training specific to runners to maintain a strong lower body and core and prevent future injuries.
