Mike Vella is a retired Cyber Security Sales Management Executive, I have been on cycling Clubs for the past 25+ years, I raced Motorcycles prior to getting into cycling. I have in the past and currently building a new Race Team as the Race Team Director Sportif. I have in depth knowledge of bicycle racing, fitting, running, strenght training and build all my own bikes. My wife was accepted to the 1980 Summer Olympics in the 100, 200 and 4 x 100 races. I run with her.
With 25+ years of Bicycle Road Racing, Crits, Gravel, Cross and Mtn Biking I have turned my focus on building Race Teams for Local Clubs and Coaching Athletes to reach their goals. I race about 10-20 races a year now. there was a time in my 40s and early 50s where I was racing 40-60 races a season. I am avid about weigh training and proper nutrition. My nutritional goals have kept my weight stable avoidling a lot of volatility. The TP Nutrition module is helping me to coach my athletes on better eating and refueling habits. I stay up on researching trends like Zone 2, Shorter Cranks, wider tires etc. I know the value of slow cadence training and high cadence training, body positioning as I also do Skills Clinics. Finally, I am a family man with a wife, daughter in college and special needs son in private school.
