I have had a innate passion for fitness and endurance sports all my life and now I use this to motivate athletes to be their very best. I am a Certified Ironman Coach and a Certified Coach from the Brazilian Triathlon Confederation. I have experience coaching athletes in a broad spectrum of levels and distances from a 5K road race to a full Ironman triathlon.

Italo Valu ran his first race in 2009. In 2012 he finished his first sprint distance triathlon in Rio de Janeiro.At the completion of this race, Italo made a verbal commitment to race in his first Ironman to be held the following year in Cozumel. As time went on and he put more races in the books, Italo soon realized that he had promising potential in endurance sports. Italo has first-hand experience that helps him to relate with the profile of the majority of today's triathlete who must juggle work, family, social, and training commitments. While training and racing, Italo also began his university studies in physical education in addition to working a full-time job which required extensive travel. As an avid reader and researcher of the sport, Italo developed a solid understanding of its intricacies such as technology/equipment, nutrition and training methods. This gave him the knowledge and insight to design tailored programs geared to maximize performance for his athletes. Between 2013 and 2016, Italo had coached himself and friends to successfully finish many races and Ironman. Ultimately, Italo decided to turn his passion into his life's work. He enjoys sharing the knowledge he has gained to help and inspire others to fall in love with something that means so much to him. Italo has a strong background in cycling. As a native of the Rio de Janeiro, he has spent a majority of his time training on what he refers to as his home race course Ironman Florianopolis.
