I am a lifelong trail runner and lover of the mountains. My goal is to use my knowledge, education, and experience to help guide you to your ultra running goals. I enjoy coaching athletes who want to work hard and buy into the long term plan because great endurance success comes from consistency over time not a magic workout or two. I also love helping runners who have been dealing with injuries fix the underlying cause and get back to running pain free. Contact me for a free consult.
Matt Whitehead has been running and racing since he could walk, winning his first race at 2 years old. He has also been studying anatomy, physiology, and the biomechanics of running since he could first read (seriously - ask his parents). Matt raced in elementary and middle school (100m, 200m, cross-country), high school (400m, 800m, cross-country), and Division 1 at Gonzaga University (800m and cross-country). Post collegiately, after earning a Bachelor's of Science in Exercise Science, Matt continued to trail run, adventure run, and race as he raised his three kids. For over 20 years, Matt has been working full-time as an Egoscue certified Posture Alignment Specialist, Advanced Exercise Therapist, and personal trainer helping athletes eliminate injuries, stay pain free, and extend their careers. Matt is a United Endurance Sports Coaching Academy Certified Ultrarunning Coach. Matt has worked with brand new runners, lifelong runners in their 80s, 100 mile champions, Olympians, and everyone in-between.
