From an early age, I was an active kid constantly on the move. Learning to swim as a boy, I took to the pool as often as I could in the summer and became a lifeguard. Once I was old enough to bike I became immediately hooked and rode anywhere I was allowed. I eventually landed on the swim team in high school. Around the same time I began to lift weights, something that would become a passion for me and would lead me on the path to coaching and personal training. I completed my first sprint triathlons in High School, a harbinger of what was to come.
At the University of Rochester where I acquired 2 BA’s; Psychology and English, I kept swimming and became a springboard diver for a few season. I began to run for fitness and continued to increase my knowledge of strength training.
In 2006 I rediscovered (and consequently fell in love with) the sport of triathlon when I entered the NYC Triathlon that year and followed it up with his first 70.3 Half-Ironman in Montauk a couple months later. I completed my first Ironman in 2010 at Ironman Wisconsin and immediately became a USAT certified coach. I continue to race all distances of triathlon (and occasionally podium) each year along with cycling and running races.
I train athletes of all types online and in the tri-state area and am the former head coach for NYC Based club Trilogy Tri. I am the founder of the triathlon training retreat TriSkills based in the Catskills.
