Raquel started swimming at the age of 3 years old.
Did sporadic MTB from 11-13 y.o.
She started triathlon at 13 years old, and because of a good national performance, she participated in several international events.
Best results as a teenager:
-2 times Junior Panamerican Female Champion 1996-1997. (Costa Rica & Mexico).
-Junior Female Champion at Aruba International Triathlon 1997.
-11th place at the Central American Games, Maracaibo, Venezuela, 1998.
Later on, after more than 10 years out of competition, she came back to triathlon as a healthy lifestyle at the beginning, then the Dominican Triathlon Federation invited her every year to represent DR as an elite at the ITU level consecutively from 2013 to 2018. Best Results: more than 5 top ten at Pan American cups, and qualified for the Toronto Panamerican Games 2015.
Dominican Republic consecutive champion from 2013-2019. (From sprint to long distances IRONMAN).
Raquel completed around 10 events, 70.3 Ironman in the professional category and 2 Full IRONMAN.
Best Results long distances:
-8th place in Professional category in Full IRONMAN Louisville, Kentucky, 2018.
-3rd Place Overall Female at Ironman 70.3 Superfrog, California, 2019.
While competing in around 100 events, internationally and locally in the USA and the Dominican Republic, Raquel was working hard coaching swimming and started formally coaching triathlon in 2015. All levels, distances & backgrounds.
