Scott K. Reaves

I have been in nutrition for over 20 years in different aspects including studying, teaching and doing research. I am currently a Professor of Nutrition at a California State University. My areas of expertise include metabolism and nutrition for exercise performance. As a former professional athlete, I understand the importance of using a nutrition plan to support optimal exercise performance and as a researcher I understand how important it is for nutrition plans to be evidence based.

My degrees include a Bachelors in Nutrition from Cal Poly State University and a PhD in Nutritional Sciences from the University of Arizona. I have been a nutrition faculty at universities and have done a lot of teaching and research. My research has included a lot of sports nutrition projects in a wide variety of sports with athletes from all over the world. Their categories include amateur, professional and collegiate athletes and I currently run sports nutrition programs for several division I collegiate athletics teams. My personal sports background includes collegiate and professional baseball as well as several other sports in the years after I finished playing professionally.

My nutrition strategies are based on scientific research and my experiences in working with athletes. I have also designed sports nutrition products that have been sold commercially and used on my research projects. I am available to design personalized nutrition plans for triathletes, runners and road cyclists. I may be be willing to work with athletes in other sports on a case by case basis. The number of athletes that I work with will be limited so that I can provide a focused and detail-oriented approach. Feel free to contact me with any questions.
