Xterra and road triathlon coaching, half and full marathon coaching, and nutrition planning.
2 Doc stands for myself, a board certified sports medicine physician and my wife a PhD registered dietitian. We offer online coaching and nutrition plans as well as workshops, camps and individual sessions. My credentials include USAT Level 2, Ironman University certified, and Xterra Coach Certification.
I come from a running background having completed 36 marathons with a PR of 2 hours 45 minutes. I have been doing triathlons for over 30 years, and realize it is the perfect example of a lifelong sport (s).I have competed at the Xterra World Championships in Maui twice and Italy once. As a Senior age grouper I accept the fact that my PR days may be over but I still enjoy the thrill of competition.
My medical background in Sports medicine helps me understand the physiology behind exercise and I firmly believe Exercise is Medicine. Most injuries that triathletes incur fall in to the overuse category, and are best treated with substituting other types of exercise, relative rest, physical therapy and sometimes medication
As a coach I am pragmatic and interested in working with athletes from beginners to the competitive age grouper. I enjoy the challenge and camaraderie of Xterra but compete and coach athletes for both road and off road triathlons.
