I am a British Cycling Level 3 (the highest level) coach for Road and Track Cycling. I been coaching cycling since 2004 when my daughter was progressing through the British Cycling program and as a result I know the UK Women's road and track racing scene well and specialize in preparing female riders for competition at all levels. This includes international UCI events and have been at the last 3 World Track Championships as a coach.
My first degree was in Sports Science and I have worked in Sports Science Departments at UQ and UWA in Australia, but I am currently Professor of Psychology in a UK University and I teach in the area of Sport Psychology on topics such as optimal arousal and mental preparation for competition. Outside of my professional occupation I coach aspiring individual riders as a British Cycling Level 3 coach. I don't coach to generate income, so cost is kept to a minimum, and I am more interested in 'interesting projects'. I only take on a couple of riders at a time and as outlined in my summary tend to specialise in coaching female riders because I think I know the competition/power/training requirements much better than for the male road/track scene. I am 'DBS checked' and approved for work with junior riders.
