Deborah coaches runners and triathletes of all ages and abilities, from first-time racers to experienced endurance athletes pursuing ambitious goals. Her coaching philosophy emphasizes consistency over perfection and finding joy in sport.
Deborah's background as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist adds another layer to her coaching, making her the ideal coach for athletes with complex health histories, including those with gut issues, history of eating disorders, and fueling challenges.
A self-described "adult-onset athlete," Deborah found running in her twenties as a charity runner. What began as one half-marathon quickly grew into a passion for endurance sports. After adopting a fully plant-based diet in 2010 and transforming her own health through nutrition and movement, she was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in 2012. In fact, it was her endocrinologist who invited her to participate in her first triathlon after her cancer diagnosis and treatment.
Rather than derailing her goals, the experience strengthened her commitment to living a lifestyle centered on resilience, long-term health, and doing hard things, which are all values she brings to her coaching. She understands firsthand that athletes don't train in a vacuum. Life, health challenges, careers, and families all become part of the journey.
She has since completed multiple marathons and half marathons, as well as both short course and long distance triathlon, including 70.3 and Ironman races.
In addition to coaching and training, Deborah is a mom to two young kids, which means she is well-versed in balancing athletic dreams with the reality of raising a family.
