Coach Bio

Keep the fun and adventure in training...

I've coached everything from Guinness World Records (70 half ironmen in 70 days), to international age-group podiums, and athletes running their first 5km.

As an elite athlete, medical student and researcher I spend my time mulling over performance improvements, exercise physiology and how we can use sport to improve health and wellbeing. I value people who dream big and overcome adversity, love adventure and being sustainable long-term.

Let's do it!

Hi! I'm Jake Keast, a UK based medical student, Oceans and Human Health researcher, triathlete and performance coach. I've been coaching for 8 years now and am passionate about making a dream reality, breaking down barriers of accessability, medical health and time availability to keep you moving forward.

I've coached athletes from international podiums and World Records, to running their first parkrun after a disabling injury, or helped overcome chronic pain and illness to complete a half marathon or half ironman. I balance my own training around medical school, coaching, and research. Recently co-authoring a textbook on Oceans and Human Health, and working with local projects to bring young people and vulnerable adults to the sea for sports and education. Coming 2nd in the 20-24 European Age Group Duathlon Championships, 3rd in the World Age Group Triathlon Championships, and 6th most recently after a mechanical saw me lose a couple of minutes to slip out of podium potential.

I take pride in a holistic coaching style. Making your time work for you and fostering habits that enable you to be the best you can be across what you value most: sport, family, work, academia, travel, adventure etc. My team includes professional mindset, running form and swim analysis coaches as well as physio and nutritionist input.

So keep the fun and adventure in training... dream big and make it happen.
