As your cycling coach, one of my goals is to help you change the way you perceive limitations – in your body and mind. If you can embrace the mantra of “progress over perfection”, each day becomes a opportunity to create the best version of yourself.
In 2019, Josh founded The Athletes Lab with a mission to help athletes unlock their full potential—mentally, physically, and emotionally. With over 20 years of experience in cycling, running, and triathlon, Josh understands the demands of elite competition. He believes the most important aspects of the coach-athlete relationship are communication and connection, which foster trust, consistency, and long-term growth.
Josh emphasizes that lasting growth comes from supportive relationships and mental adaptations, not just physical ones. He believes training, competition, and self-identity don’t define us; it’s our experiences in sport, curiosity, adaptability, and consistency that shape us.
Coaching is about co-creating with athletes, staying grounded in their "why," and embracing the process of growth. Josh’s approach, backed by science and proven methods, focuses on working smarter, not harder. Strength training is key—especially for mountain bikers—to maximize power, endurance, and skill.
Josh also co-owns Asana Yoga and Ayurveda, where he integrates mind-body connection. He designs yoga flows to develop strength, stability, and mobility, helping athletes recover and perform at their best. Meditation and mindfulness practices are also key to achieving mental clarity and resilience.
Josh’s goal is simple: to help you become the best version of yourself, whether as an athlete or a parent supporting your child’s journey. He is here to provide the tools to help you thrive.
