I grew up playing rugby at academy level before transitioning to triathlon at University, where I studied Sport and Exercise Science to Masters level. My academic interest lies in nutrition for endurance training and performance, specifically around carbohydrate intake and periodisation, as well as training theory. Throughout my time at University, I was self-coached, and lowered my 5k, 10k and half marathon times to 16:56, 35:11 and 79:55 respectively, while racing local criteriums and cycling time trials. I can provide coaching for single or multisport athletes, and have worked across a range of distances and goals, on and off road. My role at The Altitude Centre also puts me in a unique position to advise and coach for events at high altitude. I have submitted Mt Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa, and worked with several sumiteers of 8,000m mountains including Everest itself. I have also advised athletes training for races at high altitude, including the Everest Marathon, multi-day racing in the Copper Canyons, Mexico, and high altitude cycling in the Himalaya.
