This is the value I can add as Head Coach of the141mile:
📌 It is about the science: data and performance - I am Chemical Engineer from University, so crunching and analysing data is a daily thing for me.
📌 It is about the art of communicating and connecting with the athlete - I have a diploma in Coaching & NLP, so I know how to treat people.
📌 It is about a business relationship, where the athlete pays for a service - I have a MBA degree, so I am aware of my obligations here.
➡️ I remember when I started with triathlon in 2011 I had a (maybe one day...) dream called Ironman. I also recall that I thought those sub-10h IM athletes were like cyborgs, made of metal underneath their skin, unreachable.
➡️ Well..., quite some years later, 11 IM later,+100 sport events later, my perspective has changed a bit... I have not only dropped that IM-time barrier 5 or 6 times, but I have also even got qualified for Kona WC 2024. A lifetime dream that was not at all in my thoughts when I started in the sport. And this just happened when I decided to start to be my own coach. Casualty perhaps?
➡️ What I mean with all this is that there are no limits to our potential. We can achieve more than we think or believe of. That is not else but good news.
It does not matter if you are starting from the scratch and have no gear, or you have been in the sport for years already; in the end, Ironman training and racing is a lifestyle, something that is capable of transforming your life into a new dimension: better athlete, better person.
