UK-based university Sport Science lecturer and exercise physiologist, and founder of TCC Endurance. Sports Science graduate with an MRes in Exercise Physiology. Level 3 British Triathlon coach and TrainingPeaks Level 2 certified. I take a research-led, data-driven approach to 70.3 and Ironman prep, turning physiology into practical training that fits real life. 20+ years coaching and mentoring coaches.
With 20+ years in coaching and athlete development, I blend real-world endurance experience with a strong academic foundation. I started coaching at 19 as a swimming instructor and lifeguard, and I now work as a university Sport Science lecturer and exercise physiologist. As founder of TCC Endurance, I specialise in 70.3 and Ironman-distance preparation, translating physiology and performance research into practical training you can execute. I’m also a coach educator with Swim Wales and British Triathlon, supporting and mentoring the next generation of coaches.
My own turning point came in 2009 when I entered my first triathlon at nearly 17 stone. Since then I’ve raced everything from local sprints through to Ironman Wales and Challenge Roth, so I understand the training, pacing, and life management required across distances.
Qualifications include Level 3 British Triathlon coach and TrainingPeaks Level 2, plus a Sports Science degree and an MRes in Exercise Physiology. My coaching is evidence-led, data-driven, and flexible for busy professionals: clear priorities, smart progression, and honest feedback. Whether you’re aiming for your first finish, a PB, or age-group qualification, we’ll build a plan around your goals, your schedule, and the long game.
