I am an educator. Not an educator in the traditional academic arena, instead, I am a teacher to the general population; sharing my knowledge of health, wellness, and fitness to all who have a desire to learn.
Empirical Athletics is the culmination of my 10+ years of coaching and experience. It is a company founded on the idea that health and human performance should be based in real science: relying on data, testing, and biological principles, rather than merely anecdotal experience.
Coming from a background in biological research, my approach to health and exercise are very different from most coaches. I rely on core principles of physiology and biochemistry to properly train athletes, allowing them to excel and achieve their goals, while being assured that the training is both safe and healthy.
Public speaking comes naturally to me as well and I thrive in large group educational settings. I love teaching seminars/clinics/camps and have over 20 prepared topics ranging from 'Injury Prevention' to "How to Train for an Ironman' that I regularly present to organizations, corporations, and large groups.
I believe strongly in my own continued education as well. in order to stay at the top of the game, you must always be working to improve yourself. I am constantly reading and reviewing relevant articles in scientific journals, applying for new certifications, and collaborating with my coaching peers to further my own knowledge.
