I'll keep it short. I'm a coach with the Summit Endurance Academy. I believe in surgical workouts, epic days in the saddle, bison burgers, and a good Nøgne IPA. Yes, I own a costume box.
I think racing and training is crucial to living your best life, and living your best life is about looking back and seeing how much more Badass you are now than your past self.
Hit me up. Let's go beat the past together.
My fascination with endurance sports began in 1998 watching Bjorn Dæhlie cross country skiing in the Olympic 4x10km relay. Since then, I've been hooked.
After cross country skiing in college, I moved to Colorado in 2009 to be a cross country ski instructor at Devil's Thumb Ranch. In the off season I worked trails and raced road bikes all over the Front Range in Colorado. My exercise physiology background led me to late nights buried under training manuals and studies learning how to coach.
What sets me a part is that unlike many endurance coaches, I did not grow up in a household with an endurance sports culture. While this set me back from the start, it also forced me to examine aspects of the cross country skiing and road cycling without any expectations, both sports with rich histories that can get caught in old thinking.
My path from beginner to Elite Wave Birkebeiner skier and CAT 1 cyclist has imbued me with one driving mission - to demystify these often intimidating pursuits and produce life-long athletes. Winning races is great, but the lifestyle of an endurance athlete is the ultimate reward that leads to your best life.
