Stride Strong Coaching provides personal running coaching. Athletes receive individually tailored running programs, designed to help them achieve their running and life goals.
I train all age groups and abilities: high school to masters, recreational to elite. My philosophy is to account for your life and training stresses, resulting in a program that works for you. Don't just follow a program, get a program which follows you.
I am originally from New Zealand. After winning numerous national medals in New Zealand, I came to the USA and ran for the University of North Texas in the NCAA Division One. My PRs include a 30:02 10,000m and a 2:30 Marathon. In 2017 I was diagnosed with congestive heart failure caused by an underlying congenital condition and had to have heart surgery. I have used the same coaching principles I use with my athletes to build back up into decent shape and am back enjoying exercise again.
I have USATF Level One certification and coach USA-based and international athletes, from novice to elite levels, from the mile and 5 km through the Marathon. I am currently the running coach for a nationally ranked Junior Elite Triathlon team. I believe that to be truly successful you must coach the individual as a whole. Too many running programs approach training as though every person is the same. Each person has different goals, strengths, weaknesses, and ambitions - as well as different life stresses.
I strive to learn about each individual and write a program tailored to their unique physiology, mentality, and life. As a result, training is both more satisfying and successful. If you are looking for a more individualized program which accounts for your busy life, then I may be the coach for you!
