Conrad Stoltz aka "The Caveman"
7x XTERRA World Champion, 2x Olympian and all round triathlete, time triallist and mountainbike racer.
23 years of professional racing experience.
Recently retired & ready to personally coach & mentor a small number of selected athletes.
I believe my long Pro career was thanks not only to sound training principals (and the right genes), but importantly, living a balanced, holistic lifestyle, which makes training & racing enjoyable & sustainable.
7x World Champion.
2x Olympian (Triathlon)
10x XTERRA USA Series Champ
53 XTERRA Global Tour Victories.
23 years Pro athlete. 1000+ races Racing since I was 8, first triathlon at 14 years old. (1988)
I grew up old school with "he who trains the hardest - wins" approach. After being self coached for the first 10 years of my Pro career and making all the training mistakes, I've been lucky to train under some great coaches, most notably being sport scientist Ian Rodger. Despite my serious training limitations (due to trauma injuries to my feet) Ian's scientific approach enabled me to win World titles I could not have won otherwise, and he made the most of my last 8 years as a pro - winning races and stretching and enjoying training and racing till age 42. Our approach is: "Train as little as possible in order to achieve the desired outcome." By following exclusively science based training and equipment choices we avoid "junk miles" and guessing outcomes. Simple, no nonsense and proven.
I'm passionate about teaching skills - which is often seriously neglected.
Whether you're looking for results or "fun" I believe you need to enjoy what you're doing in order to make it sustainable.
Every athlete has unique requirements in terms of training, work & family life. I strongly believe in personalized coaching where each workout is custom made to suit your personal requirements, fitness, skill level and personal goals.
