Hi, my name is Coach Stephen Hyde.

I am a senior coach at Cycle-Smart residing in the Pioneer Valley in Western Massachusetts. I reside with my partner, our daughter, dog and two cats.

What started as a side gig to my 12 year professional racing career turned full time in 2022 when I transitioned to life as a father and USA Cycling National Team CX Coach. I was fortunate to be a part of the CX national team for two full seasons to help guide those athletes through domestic and European racing for which I knew so well. In my time as a racer I amassed 3x Elite National CX titles, 2x Elite Pan-Am titles, multiple over all winner of the USA Cycling USCX series, 6x CX Worlds team member, Elite MTB XCO podium, Pro Road NRC podiums, multiple gravel and endurance MTB wins including Unbound 100.

I started coaching CX camps in 2012 with Cycle-Smart and have refined my skills over time. I still very much love what I do. I enjoy creating relationships with my clients and understanding their needs. My athletes inspire me to be better and better at what I do now and not to only rely on my past experiences. Learning from them is my greatest gift.

I have been a guest on podcasts such as Fast-Talk as well as our own Cycle-Smart monthly cast for my expertise in CX and beyond and love to tell my story in hopes to connect and show that there are different paths to success.
