An early passion for all sports led me to study sport science and ultimately to endurance sports for the last 10+ years. While completing my PhD in physiology, I am keen to keep working with a small number of athletes so get in touch if you're interested or you just want a chat.
As an athlete I have raced everything from super sprint to Ironman with a particular passion for the 70.3 distance. I spent some time in Australia training in national development squads as well as an elite triathlon squad in Scotland. Which I ultimately ended up coaching. During this time I worked with Scottish, British, European and World champions across all distances. I have also coached up to the 100 mile ultra distance.
These experiences along with my academic background (BSc Sport & Exercise Science and MSc Sports Performance Enhancement) have developed me into a coach that can help you reach your goals - whatever they may be.
My coaching philosophy is that everyone is different and should be coached that way. This includes the purpose of your training, for some people it's about improving by a handful of seconds to reach the top step of the podium but for others it's about improving health or having fun.
As well as a triathlon coach I am a qualified swimming teacher with experience working with everyone from babies to retirees. This is of particular note to those who might be newer or weaker swimmers or those who are just struggling to improve.
