I have had a huge number of influences in my athlete career, ranging from competing in triathlon, to rowing at the national level and being on the podium at Masters XCO Nationals. My diverse experiences have allowed me to have a global and balanced approach to training, competing and life in general. I competed as a swimmer and then as a triathlete in my high school and university years before moving onto rowing crew at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver while completing a degree in biological sciences with a minor in nutrition. I trained and competed at the national level for 2 years in rowing. I moved to the Canadian Rockies to complete a teaching degree and fell in love in the mountains. I ice climbed and skied in the winter and mountain bike raced and mountaineered in the summer. I completed my first stage race in 2007, Transrockies, and was hooked. I trained to compete at higher levels of Masters mountain biking racing, which culminated in winning 2015 40+ Singletrack 6 title and 2019 Transrockies Open Men 3 day, Canadian Masters XCO Nationals, as well as BC Bike Race, Breck Epic, and other local races. My approach is to balance training with strength, flexibility and proper nutrition to make durable athletes using evidence based research, for training, injury rehab and prevention. I look forward to helping you become a fitter, faster and stronger version of yourself while achieving your racing goals.
